Anticipa-ation, it's makin' me wait...

They say patience is a virtue.

I'm not very virtuous.

Ha.

Tomorrow will have been a month since I signed my contract with my agent. And as she said, you can't expect things to happen overnight. Well, why not?!!! Okay, okay, I know that it takes time for things to happen. I just want to start planning my launch party. Which I can't do until I have something to launch. Which I don't. Not yet, anyway.

Sigh...

It's really hard when things happen fast then slow to an abrupt halt. I finished my book and the edits, went to a conference and signed an agent in less than six months. (This after 6 years of writing the darn thing.) And now, I must wait.

And wait.

And wait....

But in the meantime, I must find other things to keep me occupied. So it's back to the notebook to work on the sequel. I've been writing different scenes as they've come to me and it finally dawned on me that I had no idea where any of it was going or how the scenes I'd written were linked. I didn't think I had a theme until my husband asked me what the story was about. I just rattled it off to him as if I'd had it all along. Funny thing is, once I said it out loud to him, I figured out how the scenes that I wrote are going to be linked. Now it's time to stop and plot the whole thing out. I may have done this once before, but I have to get going now.

In the meantime, I have a terrific something to look forward to: a concert featuring Mary Mary, the incomparable Yolanda Adams and the original diva, Ms. Patti LaBelle!!! 10 days and counting!

And I wait some more...

Industry News

Hi all,

I read an interesting article in today's Chicago Sun-Times about the state of the independent bookstores. If you're interested in getting your book into bookstores, you should keep this information in mind.

Here's the link:
